Our Story

Laying the Foundation for Brighter Futures.

Fix a Classroom Foundation is a nonprofit initiative committed to restoring dignity to public education by renovating dilapidated classrooms and simplifying access to critical knowledge for the general public.
We believe that a safe and functional learning environment is the bare minimum every child deserves, yet in many communities across Nigeria, children sit on broken benches under leaking roofs, trying to learn in conditions no child should endure. We are working to change that, brick by brick.
But fixing classrooms is only part of the mission. We are equally committed to addressing an invisible barrier: the inaccessibility of knowledge. Through our Common Tongue Knowledge project, we simplify and translate influential texts, from political theory to economics, philosophy to social thought, into local languages and plain English. This makes learning more democratic and empowers communities with the tools to think, question, and act.
At the heart of our work is the belief that education must be accessible, both physically and intellectually.
